Job Opening: Lead Character Artist
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Manage the character art team to create breathtaking characters and creatures using next-generation techniques that fit with our art style.
- Provide artistic and technical direction to our internal and external teams.
- Work closely with animation, tech art, and rigging to make sure character art meets the technical requirements for the game.
- Work with our concept artists and art director to create beautiful characters and creatures, using next-generation creation techniques.
- Collaborate with directors, art managers, design teams, and production to define strong plans and processes, and accomplish the strategic goals of the character art team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience creating character art to a high standard.
- Shipped at least one AAA title as a lead character artist.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey artistic vision, feedback, and technical requirements to internal and external teams.
- Up-to-date knowledge of character and creature creation, from high-resolution sculpting all the way through to the pipeline to game models, materials, and textures in a PBR pipeline.
- All of our roles require up to 10% air travel. Examples include Studio/Team Offsites, Team/Studio Events, etc.
Bonuses:
- An up-to-date knowledge of content workflows for Unreal 5.
- Knowledge of Unreal shader creation.
