Job Opening: Lead Animator (Animation)
Location: London, England, United Kingdom
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Leading by example, providing the best possible character/creature animation, which is in line with the style of the show
- Attend dailies and client review meetings as required
- Liaising with the Animation Director to make sure feedback from the client is correctly addressed and fixes to the animation are carried out by your team
- Liaising with your team of animators and the production team to make sure tasks are completely in a timely manner, meeting deadlines
- Understanding and focus the implications of performance, style, quality, continuity, technical, scheduling and budgetary requirements of the Production.
- Working closely with the rigging department to ensure that all rigs function properly for proposed shots
- Mentoring junior artists
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent professional knowledge of Maya
- Experience working on TV-episodic or feature film productions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in an Animation Lead role, or considerable experience as a Senior Animator
- Experience mentoring junior animators
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of physics and anatomy as it pertains to animation
