Job Opening: Lead 3D Rigger

Responsibilities:
- Team management: development on project, support on project, development, training, evaluation, recruitment…
- Intervention, support, and assistance on the various projects of your team members
- Analyze customer pipelines, choose how to integrate our tools if necessary, and carry out project setups.
- Maintain and strengthen the evolution of the studio’s Rigging sector.
- Take into account the evolution plan of the animation and character sector in order to create and develop sustainable and innovative procedures and tools
- Develop or participate in the development of reuse and automation solutions linked to the studio’s evolution plan in the Unreal Engine.
- R&D in automation, creation of tools, muscular system, RBF system…according to the plan established by the animation director.
- Develop character rigging solutions that can mix authoring and handmade rigging as well as create procedural auto-solutions for animation.
- Windows, Maya, UE5, and “Zbrush” will be the software in your working environment.
- Apply artistic quality standards and technical direction to studio projects.
- Create and use tools to increase the efficiency and quality of animations (Maya/EU).
- Contribute to the development and strengthening of our software and tool pipeline.
- Create tools and interfaces linked to the environment of our development plan that can be integrated into our various projects or adaptable to our customer projects.
- To develop a production architecture that can adapt to any type of project as well as automation tools in maya.
- To listen to the different needs of the project teams linked to the production of rigg and procedure.
- Follow and prospect the best and latest practices in coding, AI, for Maya, Unreal or any other software.
- Actively collaborate with the different teams in order to create a solid structure as well as a malleable and instinctive “character” environment to streamline the work of animators and animator techs in order to increase the overall quality of our projects.
- Modify, create or integrate tools into the pipeline allowing riggers and animators to streamline their production.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Seven to ten years of experience as a 3D Rigger and Lead Rigger in the fields of cinema but especially video games.
- Mastery of rigging and skinning systems (body/facial/mechanical, parametric and automation systems).
- Control of real-time engine needs.
- Knowledge of Metahuman, Advanced skeleton, other autorigs, RBF and real-time muscle systems.
- Solid knowledge and experience in development: Windows, Maya, Unreal Engine, (Zbrush would be a plus) on C++ and Python languages.
- A thorough or practical understanding of modeling, animation or their principles.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, human and animal morphology.
- A collaborative, creative, innovative, proactive, rigorous and autonomous spirit.
- Comfortable with manufacturing, adaptation and modification of tools.
- Software environment: Windows / Maya / Unreal engine 5 / Zbrush (would be a plus)
- Comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment, knowing how to work within deadline constraints.
- Passionate about games, cinema, art, design and attention to detail.
