Job Opening: Lead Animator
Location: Remote and Glasgow, Scotland (Hybrid)
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead the animation work for our games, overseeing gameplay and cinematic animation through reviews and detailed feedback
- Work with the director and creative leads to establish the animation style and requirements for the project and actively participate in style discussions to ensure we achieve a unified look.
- Lead the creation of high-quality, responsive, and engaging animation assets for gameplay prototypes and production all the way through to final shippable polished assets.
- Work with production to identify animation tasks and priorities and plan them into the roadmap, following up to ensure agreed deliverables are met.
- Holding regular reviews with the animation team, mentoring junior/mid-team members to ensure that their animations reach a high-quality bar.
- Consistently assess our processes and pipelines with a view to improving efficiency across the animation team.
- Work closely with designers and programmers to ensure animations are implemented as intended and to the right quality.
- Create and maintain informative documentation about the animation pipeline for new starters & other departments.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and solve animation-related issues across the team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demo Reel displaying character / first-person animations for games.
- 4+ years of industry experience as a Lead or Senior Animator
- Excellent Gameplay Animation skills
- Maya expertise
- A relevant degree in Animation or equivalent professional full-cycle project experience.
- Unreal Engine 4/5 experience is desirable
- Developed communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
