Job Opening: Junior Digital Image Technician
Location: Bath, Somerset, England, UK
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Importing and preparing 3D assets for inclusion within visualisations.
- Retouching photography for use in photomontage visualisations.
- Outputting large quantities of images from layered PSD files with careful attention to naming conventions and asset tracking spreadsheets.
- Programming and running Photoshop batch actions across numerous image outputs.
- Preparing PSD files with raw render layers, which are ready for the post-production team.
- Creating carefully colour-corrected scans and textures for use on product models.
- 3D scanning of assets to be converted into photorealistic assets.
- File management and cataloguing of our extensive 3D asset library.
- Assisting in modelling scene components and assets in 3D StudioMax.
- Manipulating existing 3D scenes and importing props and styling assets under the instruction of our in-house stylists.
- Submitting and tracking renders through the render farm.
- Managing digital file storage and following accurate record keeping.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience using Photoshop to create, manipulate, and enhance imagery is essential.
- Experience using 3D StudioMax, and Corona/Vray would be advantageous.
- An ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings, 3D CAD models, storyboards, and moodboards.
- Familiarity with the breadth of Adobe design packages, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign, as well as video software such as After Effects and/or Premiere.
- A passion and understanding of photography, colour theory, illustration and/or fine art.
- Meticulous attention to detail, both when working on images and managing file structures and complex methodologies.
- Outstanding verbal skills that enable you to describe your own work clearly and effectively both in-house and external clients and stakeholders.
- Comfortable using a variety of means to communicate with others, including telephone, email, presentations, and video conferencing.
- Able to listen effectively, to understand what is required, asking questions where relevant.
- Diligent at recording information and keeping track of information and requests.
- Responding fully, accurately, and in a timely fashion to tasks appointed.
- Make simple but effective presentations in-house as required.
- This is a Junior/ Lightweight role and would ideally suit a candidate who has completed a degree in a creative discipline. Other undergraduate qualifications and/or relevant A levels will also be considered providing they are supported with an outstanding portfolio of work.
- A portfolio of high-quality graphical work produced under deadline.
- Experience of working in a professional office-based environment is preferable but not essential.
- Experience within an architectural practice or design studio would be an advantage but not essential.
- An interest in art and architecture and an understanding of design principles, composition, and colour theory are crucial.
- Demonstrate a keen eye for detail, composition, and visual narrative
