Job Opening: Facial Modeller
Location: Montreal, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience as an organic modeller
- An impressive reel or portfolio demonstrating attention to facial surface detail, underlying facial anatomy, and photo-realistic facial expressions for hero characters
- A good understanding of Facial Action Coding System (FACS)
- Strong understanding of topology as it relates to facial deformations and detail
- Ability to use various types of scan data captured from an actor and ability to integrate the relevant shape information into a facial setup
- Experience sculpting the face digitally and working with facial blendshapes in Maya and ZBrush or Mudbox
- Anatomical knowledge of all relevant facial muscles and their functions
- Experience and desire to work closely with facial riggers to ensure models work smoothly within the rigging pipeline as well as the facial modeling pipeline
- Skills in rigging and geometry deformations a plus
- Able to take direction and work independently while being an effective team player
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Linux system to perform daily tasks comfortably
- Ability to script in Python a plus
- Experience using Maya in a production environment
- Positive attitude and wish to push the boundaries
