Job Opening: CG Supervisor
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VFX Supervisor, Producers, Production Managers, coordinators, artists and other necessary departments in creating high quality visual effects
- Provide clear direction to all CG departments, including but not limited to: assets dev, rigging, animation, lighting, and FX, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results
- Supervise the artist in achieving all technical aspects of production including but not limited to: assets dev, rigging, animation, lighting and FX
- Keep up on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suits the production in the development of a stronger creative technical environment
- Train team members and review their overall performance and work, ensuring the highest standards are met at all times
- Work closely with Producers and Production Managers to provide a task breakdown and estimates per project
- Ensure that all teams are working efficiently and productively and are on target to meet all milestones and deadlines
- Assess and determine new talent with the help of the production and staffing team along with assisting in the actual interview process
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years in the VFX industry in a CG Supervisory role
- A degree or diploma in a relevant field
- A thorough understanding of the visual effects process and the ability to interpret the artistic brief from the VFX Supervisor
- A proven ability to ensure artists work is of the highest standard on both technical and creative levels
- Ability to motivate individuals and teams as a whole
- Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- An approachable, positive and professional manner
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude
