Job Opening: Senior Technical Lighting Artist

Job Responsibilities:
- Help specify, create and improve static and dynamic lighting workflows using our proprietary game engine software.
- Work with our existing Senior Technical Lighting Artist, as well as artists and engineers to help establish and enforce guidelines, standards and budget for lighting.
- Create and maintain documentation of lighting processes, pipelines, workflows and technology.
- Educate artists on lighting features, techniques and best practices.
- Test and verify dynamic and baked lighting solutions and tools.
- Help streamline existing lighting processes and improve their quality and efficiency.
- Actively improve skills and knowledge base by keeping up to date with cutting edge industry trends and technologies and evaluating new lighting ideas, systems and packages.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Tech Art/Lighting for games
- Expertise in art creation pipelines, workflows, and tools
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively and critically to support content creators and engineers
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly grasp new technology, workflows and software
- Understanding of lighting theory; color space, photography, exposure, dynamic range, color correction, post-process, etc.
- Deep understanding of real-time lighting technologies; physically based materials and workflows, global illumination and light baking techniques, reflections, occlusion, etc.
- Experience in game engines and 3D software, for example UE4, Unity, Maya, 3DS Max
- Experience in scripting
- Used to working with the balancing between visual quality and performance requirements
- Passion for and knowledge of games, especially FPS or sci-fi games
