Job Opening: HR Manager

Location: San Mateo, California

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Manages employee onboarding experience starting prior to the first day, including but not limited to managing new hire’s equipment and access, coordinating new hire’s buddy identification and meeting scheduling, managing all new hire first-day activities, conducting new hire orientation; checks in with new hires periodically to ensure they have all they need and concerns/questions are addressed.
  • Coordinates inter-company employee transfers and relocations as well as all-new hire relocation activities; monitors processes and employee experience and recommends improvements as needed.
  • Manages all employee off-boarding activities, including but not limited to preparing employee separation notices and related documentation, coordinating equipment returns, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Manages employee relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, employee development, and career planning, policy interpretation and compliance, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
  • Facilitates effective and positive resolution of employee issues, displaying a genuine interest and respect for people and their concerns.
  • Partners with studio management to communicate employee concerns/requests, anticipate issues and recommend resolution.
  • Promotes and coordinates studio wellness initiatives.
  • Manages and coordinates studio performance review program; works with managers to develop, deliver, and monitor ongoing performance feedback and growth plans for employees.
  • Supports and coordinates studio DE&I initiatives and programs.
  • Partners with studio talent acquisition team to manage headcount budgets and ensure proper approvals are in place; assists with recruiting initiatives including but not limited to internship programs, outreach, and DE&I activities.
  • Maintains the overall morale of the studio and provides regular “health of studio” updates to the studio head.
  • Works closely with the legal department to coordinate work permits and visas as needed.
  • Manages employee benefits administration and leaves of absence activities.
  • Supports studio’s return to office and flex work initiatives and activities.
  • As a member of the 2K Global HR Partners team, collaborates with 2K and T2 HR on the review and development of new and/or existing HR policies, procedures, and practices; makes recommendations for improvements and changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 4+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years prior work experience in an HR organization and strong HR skills required
  • Ideal candidates will have prior experience and understanding of human resources principles and practices, including but not limited to wage and hour, employment law, safety, and EEO compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and workflow, completing projects on or ahead of schedule
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Very proficient computer and internet user. Very strong skills on Microsoft Office Suite – advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals and cultures at all organizational levels
  • Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems/databases such as Workday a plus
