Job Opening: HR Business Partner

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Be a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and supportive Business Partner by building meaningful relationships, asking thoughtful questions, and guiding and supporting our managers to grow high-performing and healthy teams
  • Provide guidance and information to employees and managers, ensuring programs are engaging, relevant, and understood, and that studio leadership is listening to the needs and challenges of our people
  • With guidance from the Senior HR Business Partner and other studio leaders, deliver HR-related projects and programs that add value and expertise to our employee relations and engagement efforts including learning & development, compensation and recognition, mental health, and diversity & inclusion initiatives
  • Stay on top of industry HR best practices and continually find ways to improve our employee experience by attending events and being an active and positive ambassador in our industry and discipline

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in an HR role where you were responsible for advising and providing active support to employees and managers, including coaching others through complex situations and asking questions that lead to sound decisions
  • An HR-related post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience
  • A thorough working knowledge of relevant employment legislation including Employment Standards
  • A strong ability to navigate ambiguous situations with outstanding judgment, while balancing employee experience and studio goals
  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Resiliency to handle the unexpected and negotiate difficult situations, and able to work independently while also knowing when to ask for help
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, along with a willingness to be flexible and support the wider team
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite as well as CRM and HRIS systems like Lever or BambooHR
