Job Opening: Head of Production
Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight
- Supervise up to 5 concurrent 2D and 3D productions, and manage directors and producers to ensure productions run smoothly and on schedule.
- Creative Oversight & Collaboration
- Work with creative leadership to align production with artistic vision.
- Team Management & Structure
- Build, structure and effectively implement entire production teams based on our existing pipelines and show needs.
- Oversee team capacity, assign resources effectively, and ensure smooth asset delivery.
- Support and mentor studio leadership to foster strong communication, reliability, and team management.
- Facilitate and create a friendly, healthy, and reliable work culture that adheres to our core values.
- Budgeting & SchedulingÂ
- Budget, schedule, and plan the production of multiple animated series with producers.
- Enhance budget management, optimise efficiencies, and negotiate contracts.
- Process & Pipeline Improvement
- Improve and iterate on our entire studio infrastructure from a people and pipeline perspective.
- Continuously refine workflows for increased efficiency and scalability.
- Technology & Innovation
- Collaborate with technical teams to improve production pipelines and explore animation software advancements, including Unreal Engine.
- Work with operation departments to roll out new systems and pipelines.
- Vendor & Partner Management
- Identify and establish relationships with external studios, freelancers, and outsourced teams, making key decisions on collaboration to best support production needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- +10 years of Line Producing or higher role
- Experience managing and producing both 3D and 2D productions in the style and/or complexity of Glitch’s existing 3D/2D shows (Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus, Knights of Guinevere).
- Experience building entire 2D and 3D production teams.
- Experience budgeting, planning, and scheduling multiple shows being produced concurrently.
- Strong senior leadership and management skills.
- Strong decision-making skills and critical thinking particularly surrounding producing animated shows and running animation crews.
- Strong communication skills.
