Job Opening: Technical Animator/Rigger

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain numerous character rigs in 3ds Max across multiple projects
  • Write pipeline tools and scripts to aid the animation team
  • Ability to follow established specifications of existing rigs while developing improvements for future rigs
  • Work closely with the Character Art team to ensure all assets are delivered in a format that is suitable for rigging and animation
  • Import character rigs into Unreal, create physics assets, set up Anim Dynamics and cloth simulation when needed
  • Work with the Animation team to develop animation-friendly rigs for a broad range of characters following existing technical requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Expert knowledge of animation and animation tools
  • Significant experience with 3ds Max
  • Ability to iterate and implement quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Knowledge of game production pipeline and 3d game engines
  • Experience with organic and mechanical rigging
  • Understanding of scripting languages (maxscript is a plus)
  • Actively seek feedback to improve work while also providing guidance and feedback to peers

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with facial motion capture set up and rigging
  • Expert knowledge of maxscript
  • Expert knowledge of Unreal 4
