Job Opening: Asset Production Managers

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong people management and communication, offering direction, support, and resources for your team to perform at their best.
  • Lead department meetings, daily stand-ups, check-ins, and facilitate communication across departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.
  • Oversee training and development plans to foster a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Organise Director reviews alongside other departments to streamline feedback and approval.
  • Lead, plan, and manage schedules for the Asset, Environment/Background, and Design departments to align with production timelines and delivery goals.
  • Allocate resources effectively to stay within scope, delivery timelines, and budget.
  • Prepare status reports and data for review by the Line Producer and stakeholders.
  • Provide project progress reports, identifying risks, bottlenecks, and solutions to keep production on track.
  • Supervise and collaborate with team leads and production coordinators to define asset requirements and make production decisions.
  • Identify and resolve potential production bottlenecks promptly and track progress against timelines.
  • Monitor asset quality, ensuring adherence to artistic direction and technical standards.
  • Lead the implementation and communication of new tools and pipelines to improve department workflows.
  • Coordinate team needs and resources with external departments, such as Marketing and Merchandise, to align production goals across the business.
  • Organise Director reviews alongside other department heads to streamline feedback and approval.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in asset production management within the animation or gaming industry.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and environment creation processes OR strong knowledge of the 2D asset design pipeline, including concepting, colour, and turnarounds.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Harmony, Unreal Engine) and production management tools (e.g., ShotGrid, Asana, SyncSketch, Google Suite).
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through change, helping teammates resolve obstacles, clear bottlenecks, and successfully deliver tasks.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen eye for detail, assuring delivery meets both artistic and technical standards.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and time management skills.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.
  • Be extremely organized and have a strong work ethic.
  • Engaging personality and willingness to learn.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude with a passion for making things.
