Job Opening: CFX Grooming Artist
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create realistic and stylized grooming (hair, fur, feathers) for characters, creatures, and assets using industry-standard tools such as XGen, Yeti, Ornatrix, or Houdini.
- Collaborate with modelers, texture artists, riggers, and animators to ensure groom assets are visually appealing and technically efficient..
- Maintain grooming quality and consistency throughout the production pipeline.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to groom assets and collaborate with pipeline and technical artists to resolve them.
- Optimize grooming for rendering performance while preserving visual fidelity.
- Follow artistic direction and feedback from supervisors and art directors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Groom Artist in a professional 3D animation.
- Proficiency in grooming tools such as Autodesk Maya with XGen, Yeti, or Houdini’s grooming tools.
- Solid understanding of hair/fur dynamics, shading, and rendering workflows.
- Knowledge of look development and hair shader setup (preferably in Arnold, V-Ray, or similar).
- Strong artistic sense of form, silhouette, and detail, especially in hair and fur.
- Familiarity with real-time grooming pipelines (a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
