Strikerz Inc. is looking for a specialized Game Designer (AI) to join the team behind UFL. We are seeking an architect of behavior—someone who can bridge the gap between high-level football strategy and technical NPC logic. This role is dedicated to crafting the most realistic and responsive player AI in the sports genre. Key Responsibilities
- System Design: Conceptualize and design complex AI behaviors for on-pitch players, including movement, decision-making, and tactical awareness.
- Logic Implementation: Work with technical teams to implement state machines, behavior trees, and utility-based systems that simulate high-level football intelligence.
- Game Balancing: Fine-tune AI difficulty and realism to ensure a challenging yet fair experience across all skill levels.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Gameplay Programmers and Animators to ensure AI decisions lead to fluid and visually authentic transitions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed GDDs (Game Design Documents) for AI systems, outlining triggers, reaction times, and tactical overrides.
Technical Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience in Game Design with a deep focus on AI Systems and NPC logic.
- Strong understanding of football (soccer) tactics, player roles, and team dynamics.
- Experience working within modern game engines (Unreal Engine experience is preferred).
- Proficiency in scripting or visual scripting tools for prototyping behavior.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use playtest data to refine agent intelligence.
