Job Opening: Roto & Paint Artist
Location: Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Able to ‘fix’ multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
- Responsible for short deadlines participates in rounds and team reviews of work in progress.
- Interact with production, supervisors, and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks.
- Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes, and feedback.
- Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years experience as a Roto Paint Artist in a VFX production environment
- Mastery of Nuke including paint expression and 3D environment within Nuke
- Experience in generating detailed Roto to create mattes for compositing tasks and a wide range of Paint skills using hand paint and procedural techniques such as UV Projections.
- Knowledge of 3D tracking software and Silhouette
- An eye for detail and an understanding of color and composition
- Leadership qualities, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive and accommodating attitude
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize under pressures of a deadline-driven production
