Job Opening: Animation Director /Supervisor
Location: Vancouver, Canada
Type: Full-time Contract
Responsibilities:
- Provide creative vision and direction on production and post-production of a 2D animated TV series
- Provide suggested changes/comments/feedback/creative solutions in all areas of the production pipeline, creative judgment and animation timing a must
- Ensure quality standards for finished projects using established 2D animation practices and processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external creative approval personnel.
- Work closely with supervisors, coordinators, editors, and artists to ensure the execution of the story in the animation of each episode.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in the production of an animated TV series (2D)
- Experience directing the animation pipeline of an animated TV series
- Ability to assess the artists’ talent and skillsets in order to achieve the needs of the production
- Experience in dealing with TV Networks’ production guidelines and requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to clearly communicate an artistic vision to others and get them to realize the vision
- The knack for working effectively under deadline pressures – specifically the approvals process
- Patience and ability to work with people from different disciplines and cultures with varying degrees of technical knowledge – must be able to coach/mentor/lead younger artists
- Keen judgment for juggling multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently or to collaborate with a group
- Experienced working with Mac and another office/communication programs
- Most importantly, a passion for animation
