Job Opening: Character Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:
- Work with New Business to establish strong relationships with clients, aid with the bidding and award of Premium Hero Builds.
- Work with Build Teams and the Head of Character Lab to define the creative and technical ‘blueprint’ for each Premium Hero Build.
- Work with Production to manage the day to day running of the team and to evaluate artist schedules ensuring they are realistic and achievable.
- Responsible for overseeing the use of various techniques which help aid the design process of Premium Hero Builds.
- Participate and drive early Creature/Character design and development.
- Brief and Supervise Build Team’s work.
- Ensure that all builds meet and push the global standards of quality of MPC.
- Ensure that bid days are respected and the best possible product is achieved with those bid days.
- Attend desk rounds with all members of the team on a regular basis.
- Attend dailies sessions with the team to give feedback/approvals.
- Interact in a professional manner with clients.
- Interpret the client’s vision in respect to Premium Hero Builds, in collaboration with the VFX supervisor attached to the show.
- Troubleshoot issues which arise within the execution of the Premium Hero Build ‘blueprint’.
- Collaborate with the software team and act as a stakeholder for any related software development projects.
- Be an ambassador of MPC, ensuring a good relationship is built between you and your client, as well as MPC and your client.
- Act as a representative of the work MPC produce, by not intentionally under or over selling work or over promising to clients.
- Remain professional in your engagement with clients.
- Work with the software and technology groups and advise new tools, workflow, software and equipment.
- Help to train and mentor key crew when necessary.
Qualifications Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of 3D/2D software packages and pipelines
- Knowledge of the entire production process, including stage shooting is preferred
- Solid knowledge of VFX production and its iteration process
- A good understanding of colour theory
- Up-to-date knowledge of VFX tools and emerging technologies
- A solid user of the current shot presentation software/tools Extensive hands-on experience with production tools and pipelines
Experience: 4-5 years of Asset leadership experience on live-action commercial or feature film productions
