Job Opening: Pipeline Technical Director
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintenance of tools and backend technology including troubleshooting, configuration, and deploying fixes
- Further development to existing software and workflows
- Working with the global Pipeline department to ensure workflow alignment and to apply improvements across the company
- Working in collaboration with supervisors and department leads to determine the best solutions
- Thorough documentation of all development and changes
- Engage in global Pipeline discussions, representing the needs of the Mumbai site
- Designing and engineering new solutions
- Ongoing research to recommend improvements to workflows
- Report to Pipeline leads for development priorities and for feedback on site-based challenges
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent Python and Linux skills
- Experience developing tools for a 3D application such as Maya or Houdini
- Experience developing tools for a 2D application such as Nuke
- Ability to contribute to a large software development project
- Ability to diagnose issues in complex and technologically broad systems
- Problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Detail orientated with a strong ability to multitask
- A good understanding of the entire visual effects process, from shooting through to compositing
- An understanding of networking and performance issues that arise with large VFX projects, or large cloud-based systems
- Familiarity with modern development tools and processes such as working within sprints, ticket tracking, Git/GitLab/GitHub, code reviews, CI/CD, and regression testing
Desirable Skills:
- 5+ Years of visual effects production experience
- A degree in Computer Science
- Windows development experience
- Database maintenance and integration experience
- Development in other languages such as C or Javascript
