Job Opening: 3D Art Intern (Summer Internship)

Responsibilities:
- Create and integrate 3D assets into Unity with correct mesh, texture, and shader representation
- Model and texture 3D spaceship components
- Assist artists in acquiring reference material and creating rough sketches for ships, props, and backgrounds
- Work with game designers to incorporate feedback and iterate on assets
- Assist artists with polishing and tuning background art
Qualifications & Skills:
- Candidates must be enrolled in university (or equivalent) and entering into their third or fourth year of undergraduate education, studying at the graduate level, or recent post-graduates (graduated in 2023).
- Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in game development and 3D art
- Must have an exemplary portfolio that demonstrates a good understanding of art and art workflows for machines, props, weapons, and industrial design
- Basic 3D box and hard surface modeling skills
- Experience with Maya, Blender, or similar 3D modeling software.
- Experience with Substance Painter and Photoshop (for texturing purposes)
- Available to work full-time for about 12 weeks
- A serious willingness to learn
Preferences
- Ability to conceptualize, present, and execute ideas
- Experience with PBR workflow
- Experience with Unity engine is a big plus
- Familiarity with procedural art asset creation would be beneficial
