Job Opening: Character Artist Intern
Location: Guildford, United Kingdom
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Sculpt High-Res 3D characters and their outfits, both realistic and stylised
- Create Low Poly models with UVs
- Texturise them with Substance Painter (or equivalent 3D or 2D packages)
- Work with other departments (Animation/Design) so the asset follows technical guidelines
- You will learn and be given the opportunity to put in the technical standards for the clothing pipeline
Qualifications & Skills:
- You are currently studying at a university/vocational school that has a planned internship period (not a graduate)
- You are available to commence a full-time, 12-month placement in July 2025
- You are located and eligible to work in Guildford, UK without the need for visa/relocation support
- Zbrush
- Substance Painter
- Photoshop
- Maya (or equivalent 3D Package)
- Character modelling and texturing
- Good understanding of human anatomy and clothing behaviour
- Experience with shapes, colours, lighting, expressions, and poses
- Receive feedback from Art Directors and Leads
- Functional knowledge of PBR and material surfacing
- Knowledge of Unreal, Unity, or any other Game Editor from personal projects.
