Job Opening: Mid Body Rigger (4 Positions)

Location: Montpellier, France (On-site)

Type: Full-time – Customary fixed-term contract (Intermittent)

Duration: 1.5 Months (Starting Feb 2026)

As part of the production of a stylized feature film, Dwarf Animation Studio is looking for 4 Mid Body Riggers to strengthen our team. Working in close collaboration with the Rig Architect, you will focus on the creation and optimization of generic character body rigs, ensuring high-quality deformation and technical stability for our animation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy the Dwarf rig solution across project assets.
  • Create robust body rigs for the project’s generic characters.
  • Perform high-quality skinning with a strong focus on deformation aesthetics.
  • Adjust and refine rigs based on direct feedback from the animation team.
  • Present and explain rig behaviors and deformation logic to animators.

Must Have

  • Minimum 12 months of production experience in feature films, series, or games.
  • Excellent command of Maya skinning tools.
  • Strong technical rigor and high attention to detail regarding deformation quality.
  • Ability to work autonomously within technical constraints defined by the Rig Architect.

Bonus Skills: Experience with ngSkinTools is a strong plus. Knowledge of the Unreal Engine environment and a good understanding of rigging-related mathematical foundations (matrices) are highly valued. English fluency is beneficial in our bilingual environment.
