Job Opening: Destiny VFX Lead
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead an amazing and creative team of VFX Artists in the creation of content through all phases of production on a cross-discipline small team
- Manage, mentor, and inspire team members with clear direction and promote a culture of collaborative innovation
- Lead frequent, constructive, and motivational feedback sessions with VFX Artists to assist them in creating amazing VFX
- Partner with production on project estimates and deliverables, ensuring quality, and mitigating risk
- Work with Design leadership to ensure VFX content enhances the player experience and helps make the game FUN!
- Partner with Art Management to assist in onboarding VFX Artists new to the team so they can share in the magic
- Assist producer in scope vs capacity, scheduling responsibilities, and team rituals (and help plan parties)
- Use proprietary and industry-standard tools to create satisfying, effective, and performant VFX to create an amazing experience for our players
- Help develop Destiny’s visual language through the craft of visual effects
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working as a VFX Lead and VFX Artist on shipped game titles with high complexity
- Knowledge and experience in the full VFX content creation development cycle
- Ability to problem-solve and drive creative solutions
- Ability to focus a team and keep them productive through ambiguity, seeing it as opportunity
- Ability to effectively communicate within VFX teams and across multidiscipline teams
- Understand the artistic and design principles of real-time VFX
- A VFX portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates artistic and technical skills, timing, and scale
