Job Opening: Transfer dept: Junior/Mid Data I/O Technician

Location: London – Remote

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client deliveries (outgoing and incoming), both physical and digital deliveries.
  • Preparing clocks, and playouts.
  • Technical QC of all ingested and exported files.
  • Preparing client artwork to required specifications.
  • Work with VFX artists and producers to coordinate client delivery deadlines.
  • Communicate with the producers and VFX artists when new material has been ingested.
  • Communicate queries or missing materials required to complete a task.
  • Manage and report any technical problems or errors to the head of the department.
  • Working with Flame artists to set up and archive projects
  • Work with pipeline and VFX editors to set up ingest and delivery workflows.
  • Develop Freefolk’s workflow and processes and update internal Data I/O documents.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience within the transfer department.
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to plan complex projects with urgency.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
  • A problem-solving attitude.
  • An inquisitive nature and being proactive in learning new requirements as necessary.
  • A calm, patient manner.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of digital delivery methods.
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Media Encoder and Photoshop.
  • Solid understanding of video codecs, file formats, frame rates, compression, and resolutions.
  • Understanding of MacOS.
  • Understanding of Ftrack or similar production/shot management programs.
  • Flexible approach to working hours should changes in shift patterns be required.
