Job Opening: Creature/Character Animator
Location: Fully Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- You will need to take on board and deliver direction from the Animation Director, your animation lead, or the project Director.
- You might be working across various types of projects (TV series, commercials, video games cinematics, and trailers…) animating all kinds of characters, creatures, animals or moving objects.
- You will be expected to assist the other animators within the team to improve their artistic and technical knowledge to bring the overall result to a high and equal calibre
- You will need to deliver shots within set timescales ensuring that the Project Directors and Production team are kept up to date by providing relevant documentation.
- You will need to assist and guide our animation and pipeline quality standards.
- Depending on your artistic skill, you might be invited to contribute to some designs that could help the course of the animation process: blend shapes, anatomical references, poses … these would be used for the production process and might be used later for communicating on the public relation and on the making of
Qualifications & Skills:
- Have an understanding of visual storytelling.
- Needs to have strong knowledge of the animation principles and be able to convey them
- Be particularly good at posing, weight, clear and appealing silhouette, timing, and flows and can convey emotion through performance
- Proficient in both key-frame and motion capture workflows
- Be able to provide references including by shooting some video of your performance
- Understand different production workflows
- Have good knowledge of the usage of camera and editing
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Experience with Perforce and Metahuman workflow is a plus
- Driven to provide the highest quality of work
- Expert knowledge of Maya
- Knowledge of Animbot and UE is a plus
- 3+ years of animation experience with at least the delivery of one AAA Games IP or a High-end film or TV project.
- Experience with performance capture pipelines would be preferred
- Having an understanding of working with game engines would be beneficial
