Responsibilities

  • Creating high-quality 3D environments, from natural landscapes to urban sets
  • Interpreting concept art and references to craft well-composed, realistic assets
  • Collaborating with departments such as creative, layout, and lighting to ensure consistency
  • Taking assets and environments from modelling, sculpting, UV unwrapping, and texturing assets with production-ready topology to final look development.
  • Creating large environment assemblies
  • Troubleshooting asset-related issues and supporting creative direction with strong visual fidelity
  • Providing technical and creative feedback to maintain high-quality standards
  • Collaborating with department supervisors to ensure assets meet both artistic and pipeline needs
  • Helping refine asset workflows across our global teams in India, the UK, and Sweden
  • Documenting best practices and helping improve asset workflows across global teams

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in VFX, animation, or games.
  • Strong skills in environment modelling and asset layout with an eye for scale and proportion.
  • Proficiency in ZBrush for sculpting and high-resolution detailing.
  • Strong texturing skills using Substance Painter, with knowledge of Mari considered a plus.
  • Confident shading knowledge with experience working in V-Ray or similar path-tracer, PBR workflows, and shading across a wide material range.
  • Extensive experience working with Houdini, particularly for procedural asset workflows, scattering, etc.
  • Familiarity with Solaris for lighting and layout in a USD-based environment.
  • Ability to guide artists on best practices across modelling, UVs, and topology.
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with VFX and CG Supervisors, presenting daily team submissions, and communicating creative feedback.
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating across international teams.
  • An understanding of asset optimisation for downstream departments, such as rigging or real-time.

  • Ability to interpret feedback and translate it into clear, actionable revisions.
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine, especially for asset integration and look development.
  • Prior experience collaborating across distributed teams and time zones.
