Job Opening: Compositing Supervisor

Location: Santa Monica, CA, US

Type: Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets on time and at a high level of quality;
  • Direct dailies sessions and participate in rounds, providing ongoing creative feedback to the artists;
  • Ensure that the quality of the work from the compositing team is of the highest of standards;
  • Maintain the proper work flow methodology for all artists – mentor the compositing team when required;
  • processes;
  • Perform reviews for talent in the Compositing department and provide ongoing feedback from running shows and post mortems;
  • Work closely with the CG team to ensure proper flow and execution of CG elements for compositing;
  • Work closely with the Show Set-Up Supervisor, Pipeline team and Production for setup and quality control of the 2D image processing pipeline of
  • the project from ingestion to delivery;
  • Report to Production to update status and manage risk to help execute the creative vision of the project on time and on budget.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • An ability to be a team player, first and foremost;
  • 10+ years working experience or demonstrated equivalent capability;
  • Excellent English language skills, written and verbal;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Expert working knowledge of Nuke and other relevant software;
  • High level commercial visual effects experience;
  • Master level understanding of compositing technology and methodologies;
  • Guru level experience in compositing;
  • Possess extremely strong technical, artistic and leadership capabilities;
  • Efficiently and clearly communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas;
  • Strong technical, artistic and leadership capabilities;
  • Excellent understanding of the technical and organizational aspects of the compositing pipeline;
  • Expert working knowledge of Nuke and other relevant software;
  • Expert working knowledge of review and annotation tools and procedures;
  • Good working knowledge of Linux.
