Job Opening: Concept Artist
Location: Fully Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Art Director to carry out in-depth research and establish a style, mood, and aesthetic for all visual aspects of the game.
- You have a wide visual library and can tap into this alongside your project reference and research material. You’ll be designing characters, creatures, and environments, and providing detailed drawings of assets such as props, weapons, and collectibles.
- The work you produce inspires and informs the rest of the team, and often acts as a base of inspiration for other departments to get started.
- During production, you’ll continue to help the 3D team with scene painters and provide additional concepts that may be required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must have a portfolio of work demonstrating excellent artistic skills and a good mind for innovative visual design.
- 3+ years of education and training as an artist.
- Knowledge of digital drawing/painting software such as Photoshop or equivalent.
- A strong draughtsperson with a clear grasp of perspective, form, structure and line control.
- A strong painter with a clear understanding of lighting and colour relationships.
Preferred/Desirable Experience of
- 1+ shipped title
- Knowledge of industry-standard 3D software
- 2+ years of games industry experience
