Job Opening: Cinematics Animator

Location: Montréal, QC, Canada

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Be in charge of several cinematic sequences and ensure their quality;
  • Respect the delivery schedule of animations with a high level of quality defined by the rest of the team;
  • Communicate progress and difficulties clearly with the team lead, and be prepared to understand and act on instructions;
  • Create preview scenes from video reference;
  • Assemble scenes, import animation clips captured on set;
  • Import captured facial data and refine animation to make it expressive and realistic;
  • Export animation updates to the engine and test.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma in 3D art or equivalent;
  • Intermediate 3 years in the field of animation; Senior 5 years in the field of animation;
  • Autonomous;
  • Experience in character animation with knowledge of camera work, composition, and cinematographic sequences;
  • Proficiency in Maya and MotionBuilder ;
  • Comfortable with quick Keyframe iterations and motion capture editing.

Even better if you have:

  • Technical knowledge of development engines;
  • Understanding of the anatomy of the human body and face;
  • Strong sense of ethics and humility is required;
  • Must be comfortable working in a team focused on continuous improvement;
  • Ability to learn from others and share knowledge;
  • Maturity to give and receive constructive criticism is expected.
