Job Opening: CGI Lighting Artist

Responsibilities:
- Lighting Design: Design and implement lighting setups that match the artistic vision and narrative of the project, whether it involves replicating natural lighting or creating stylised, imaginative effects.
- Software Proficiency: Use industry-standard VFX software tools for lighting and rendering, such as: Autodesk Maya, SideFX Houdini, Pixar RenderMan, Foundry Katana, Redshift and Arnold
- Light Placement: Position and adjust virtual light sources within 3D scenes, taking into consideration their intensity, coluor, temperature, and direction to achieve the desired effect.
- Realism and Integration: Ensure that CG elements or characters seamlessly blend into live-action footage or background plates by matching the lighting conditions of the live environment.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot lighting issues and find creative solutions to technical challenges, such as reducing noise or improving render times.
- Collaborative Workflow: Work closely with the VFX supervisor, director, and other team members to achieve the project’s visual goals while adhering to the production schedule and budget.
- Communication: Effectively communicate and present lighting ideas and progress to the team and address feedback.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks and make adjustments as necessary to achieve the highest level of visual fidelity.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques to maintain proficiency in the rapidly evolving field of VFX.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong proficiency in CGI lighting software, as mentioned above.
- Solid understanding of cinematography and lighting principles.
- Experience in 3D modeling and texturing is a plus.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work and projects is highly valuable.
