Job Opening: CG Compositor
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create comps that meet the creative vision and technical standards of the Director and VFX Supervisor.
- Develop and provide visually creative solutions; apply knowledge of photography, color theory, composition, stage/CG lighting to create convincing imagery.
- Combine live action, stage, and CG elements to achieve the goals of a shot.
- Incorporate elements such as characters, digital objects, set extensions, and environmental effects into a scene utilizing methods that may include: extractions, color grading, grain management, 2D tracking, multi-layered element integration, deep compositing, 2D & 3D compositing workflows, roto/paint.
- Communicate effectively with production management, creative leads, and technical support teams about planning, element handoffs, and completion of assigned shots.
- Collaborate with artists across disciplines to troubleshoot and achieve the goals of a shot.
- Identify and share workflows, tools, best practices, and potential improvements that support shot production.
- Maintain aesthetic integrity and technical standards of shots with consistency and conscientious detail.
- Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of Digital Compositing experience, preferably on feature films.
- Experience in Nuke, Nuke Studio/Hiero, and Photoshop (familiarity with Silhouette, a plus).
- Experience with Linux (or other Unix) operating systems.
- Understand VFX pipeline fundamentals, including shooting, editorial turnovers, modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision under tight turnarounds in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse artistic talents within teams and one-on-one.
- Excellent time management, proactive approach to problem-solving, and respect for deadlines.
