Job Opening: Lead FX Artist 2D & 3D
Location: Angouleme, France
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Under the responsibility of our director of special effects, you will have to work on several graphic styles, use existing systems, and set up new ones.
- You will help establish, in collaboration with the head of the compositing department, manufacturing processes, and techniques adapted to the series and the desired final image.
- You will be responsible for particle systems and others to set up with a notion of reut and reference bank to be established.
- You will need to take a critical look at the images produced by your team, be able to spot what is wrong, and get the artists to achieve the desired FX.
- You will ensure that the conditions necessary to reach the quota and planning objectives are met.
- In particular, you will anticipate technical constraints and intervene to resolve them upstream of manufacturing.
- You will listen to your team to resolve any problems as quickly as possible and thus ensure the flow of production.
- You will be in contact with the lead compositing in Angoulême, and with the production team in Paris.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Rigorous, orderly, autonomous, sense of timing, creative and imaginative.
- Good knowledge of the 3D production pipeline
- Strong artistic sensitivity and pedagogical skills
- Ability to analyze and organize
- Communication
- Practice of 3DSMax software: Tyflow, uses of plugs like frost / xmesh / maxliquid (bifrost) / fume fx, phoenix FD.
- General knowledge in simple modeling, mapping, surfacing, simple rig, rendering.
- Experience on Maya, notions of Fusion / Nuke is a plus.
- Sense of timing, movement, notions of drawing/design. Ability to meet graphic requirements from customer references.
- Proficient in ToonBoom.
