Job Opening: Associate VFX Editor

Responsibilities:
- Maintains Shotgrid database, updating frame ranges according to client updates. Maintain the show Avid project, updating seq and edits as needed. Checking and running out all dailies.
- Outputs sequence movie files, AIFF audio files, and EDLs for internal pipeline.
- Provides visual reference for production, stage, client and CG artists.
- QC editorial client deliverables and prepares Avid media for upload.
- Imports client media in show specified format.
- Work with production to create minicuts for client sends.
- Assists in show wrap-up including: layoff of movie files, finals reel, archiving, returning assets to client.
- Performs special projects under the supervision of Creative Director, Production Manager or Department Managers.
- Working with Production and TAs to process and organize I/O material from clients or external sources.
- Liaise directly with client VFX editorial or production team, communicate any queries or errors as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, and work gracefully under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Avid Media Composer or similar NLE software.
- Some working knowledge of Davinci Resolve.
- Experience with shot tracking databases (i.e.: Filemaker or Shotgrid).
- Familiarity using Linux systems.
- Some basic scripting experience a plus, especially in Python
- Previous experience in a VFX editorial role at an assistant VFX editor level or higher.
