Job Opening: Art Director
Location: Chengdu, China
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Define, document, and drive the vision for animation on the AAA title projects.
- Manage a team of animators, spearheading project planning, ensuring quality and staying on the schedule precisely.
- Create/determine the benchmark in each project and test.
- Act as the key person to communicate between animators, cross department in studio and the external clients.
- Provide the guidance during the creative discussion with design and art leadership.
- Strong partner with producers to ensure the schedules and plans meet business needs.
- Mentor/Pitcher to support the animation team with constructing feedbacks.
- Provide a sharp perspective with game-logic to meet the quality and requirement.
- Foresee the weakness and threats in animation department to improve what is needed.
- Team Cultural keeper and guardian to create an atmosphere with belonging.
- Pitch the action/acting in Cinematics to fulfill the story-telling and narrative inside; camera staging is needed as well
Qualifications & Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience in game industry with at least 3 shipped titles.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience as an Animation Director or Animation Team Lead position with sufficient and good credentials.
- A great eye for overseeing and supervising all animation content across a single project.
- Deep understanding of full game industry working process.
- A thorough understanding of all kinds of animation styles, techniques, and theories.
- Confidence with directing storyboarder and animator in Cinematic and Cutscene.
- Committed and motivated to be a good team player with a positive attitude.
- A fluent English ability with good communication skills.
Pluses:
- With the shipped AAA titles.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese.
- Experience in various 3D Animation software- Motion builder, Maya, 3dsMax and Blender.
- Experience in developing Film or Animated series in CG Industry.
- Knowledgeable of Animation system in game engine- UE4, UE5, Unity, Customized and so on.
- Knowledgeable of Animation Blueprint/Animator in game engine- UE4, UE5, Unity, Customized and so on.
- Deep understanding of full game industry working process.
