Job Opening: Art Director
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, mentor, and assign tasks to the design staff to create designs, layouts, and assets.
- Oversees the implementation of established art direction throughout the lifecycle of the animation production pipeline.
- Oversees and provides approvals of artwork, provides thoughtful feedback, as well as drawovers if necessary to external vendor pre-production stakeholders.
- Provide exemplary artwork to clarify creative intent.
- Generates artwork in areas of specialization which may include character, environment, props, textures, mood, lighting, and story concepts.
- Participates in setting lighting and design infrastructure.
- Accountable for on time, on-budget execution, and delivery of all design assets.
- Manages research and development activities that support the team’s vision.
- Communicate with Sr. production leadership to ensure designs fall on schedule and within scope.
- Understand the design elements of projects, inspire and lead other creative workers, and keep projects on budget and on time.
- Determine how best to represent a concept visually.
- Develop and maintain the overall look of the series as well as related content.
- Review and approve designs, artwork, and additional graphics developed by other staff members for the series.
Qualification & Skills:
- Extensive art direction experience in the children’s media space, ideally preschool content.
- Must be an excellent multitasker.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Leadership experience and well-developed teamwork skills.
