Responsibilities:

  • Takes ownership of the agency’s animation and motion graphics projects, reporting back on project status to the wider team. Work closely with both the Account Management and Creative teams, involving them in the animation process.
  • Manages animation workflows and plays a strong supporting role in pre-production, concepting and storyboarding, making valuable contributions to the research and preparation process.
  • Represents the wider business in a professional and authoritative manner when in communication with high-level clients, feeding back all relevant information and updates to the leadership team.
  • Develops a complete understanding of our core client base across industries including comms, technology, lifestyle, B2B and uses this knowledge to make creative recommendations for a project.
  • Conceptualises ideas into final deliverables and acts as a source of inspiration and expertise for Designers, Creative Producers and other colleagues, regularly sharing thoughts and ideas.
  • Proactively develops the creative process of a project in a way which demonstrates very strong technical knowledge, creative flair and sound judgement. Makes informed decisions on style, references, and deadlines and actively seeks information which could impact project timelines.
  • Champions new animation trends, styles, and techniques by proactively sharing knowledge to benefit the wider business as well as project and client work.
  • Plays an active role in the maintenance of company-wide video archive and storage, and provides the head of department with informed advice as to the suitability of animation software, tools and video plugins.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with the Account Management team through articulate communication at all stages of the animation process to ensure projects aims and objectives are exceeded, managing expectations where needed and seeking suitable resolution as and when challenges arise.
  • Is a strong and reliable team player who motivates junior members of staff, helping to ensure they have clear and realistic objectives. Has the respect from all the relevant people across departments and is a trusted colleague by all. Supports and builds a strong team morale whilst being totally reliable and going above and beyond.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills
  • Superior knowledge of Adobe Video suite skills including After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Superior knowledge of Adobe Design suite skills including Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Good sound design and audio editing techniques.
  • Good knowledge of at least one 3D programme i.e. Blender, Cinema 4D.
  • Sets clearly defined objectives for themselves and team.
  • Ensures that themselves and others deliver work against specific standards and expectations.
  • Encourages open communication and builds consensus.
  • Encourages teamwork and promotes effective collaboration across all variations of teams.
  • Examines plans and delivers suitable support and solutions that add value to delivery as well as day-to-day operations.
  • Develops a culture of creativity and strategic thinking within the team. Champions ‘outside the box’ thinking throughout key stages of planning and delivery to benefit work.
