Job Opening: JUNIOR & MID 3D Character Animators
Location: Gran Canaria, Spain
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Animate character and creature shots that meet style and timing notes provided by Leads/Supervisors.
- Deliver strong acting choices, believable weight, and clear storytelling through keyframe animation in Maya.
- Collaborate with the Rigging and Layout teams to flag issues, propose fixes, and integrate feedback quickly.
- Troubleshoot creative or technical problems in assigned shots, escalating when necessary.
- Manage your shot list efficiently, meeting production deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Manage time effectively and ensure smooth, consistent communication within the production pipeline.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid understanding of animation principles, acting, and visual storytelling.
- +3 years of professional experience as an animator. (only for Mids)
- Proven experience animating creatures or animals for feature films, series, or high-end cinematics.
- Strong keyframe animation skills using Autodesk Maya.
- Fluency in either Spanish or English (spoken and written) is required; proficiency in both languages is highly preferred
- 2D animation or motion-capture cleanup experience.
- Familiarity with shot-tracking tools such as ShotGrid.
- A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and continuous improvement.
