Job Openings: Colorkey Artist & DMP Artist
Location: 100% Remote
Type: 3-Month Contract (Starting February 2026)
Able & Baker is looking for talented Colorkey and DMP Artists to join our Art Department! We are currently working on a stylized cartoon feature film, seeking artists with strong painting foundations and a solid understanding of visual storytelling. If you are passionate about color, light, and composition, we want to hear from you!
Requirements for Both Positions
- Exceptional painting skills and a deep understanding of light and color.
- Strong awareness of visual storytelling, mood, and composition.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a stylized pipeline.
- Ability to translate creative direction into compelling visual assets.
Position-Specific Details
Digital Matte Painter (DMP)
- Primary Tools: Blender and Photoshop.
- Focus: Stylized cartoon production—no photobashing or realistic DMP.
- Experience with Blender and projection workflows is a significant plus.
Colorkey Artist
- Focus on establishing the color palette, mood, and lighting for various sequences of the film.
- Ensure consistency across the visual narrative of the feature.
