Job Opening: Visual Development Artist
Location: Los Angeles, California
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Visually develop environments, props, and other assets to support the project’s story, mood, and tone
- Research, explore, imagine and create a variety of design options that fit into the story/world
- Work closely with the Art Director to resolve design issues and address notes
- Adhere to the production schedule as laid out by the Producers and Production Manager; complete all assignments within the given scope and timeframe
- Work in a fast-paced production environment delivering quality art assets in a time-sensitive manner
- Collaborate with grace, humility, inclusion, and open-mindedness
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years design and paint experience on development/production OR a portfolio that demonstrates applicable design and paint skills for animated shorts, series, or features
- Excellence in draftsmanship with a working knowledge of anatomy, perspective, and volumetric drawing
- Excellence in painting skills with a good understanding of color and light
- Samples and/or credits demonstrating excellence in visual development
- Advanced working knowledge of digital drawing tools
- Excellent verbal, written, and e-social communication skills
