Job Opening: Animation Supervisor – Harmony
Location: Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
Type: Contractor
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Animation Director, other Supervisors, Leads, and team to complete work on schedule and within budget
- Review animatics to anticipate needs and challenges that may present throughout their assigned episode, and distribute work to their team accordingly, focusing on individual strengths wherever possible
- Review all animation for their episode and assign revisions as needed
- Complete revisions required as called by the Animation Director and Director
- Support and mentor animation team with a focus on growth in both hard and soft skill areas
- Ensure that all deadlines are met for the Animation department, working closely with the Animation Coordinator and production support to troubleshoot, flagging any issues in a timely manner in order to prevent delays
- Resolve problems or issues within the department in a productive and positive manner, escalating personnel challenges when identified
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication, and exhibit a collaborative, supportive approach to working with other team members
- Actively participate in team meetings with a willingness to ask questions or seek input to advance and improve
- Consistently exercise sound judgment in all areas of performance
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous Experience in a supervisory role within a TV/Episodic/Streaming production schedule
- Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony
- Strong understanding of animation principles, and the ability to interpret and apply them
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
- Experience with Gmail extensions ie. Google Docs, Mail
- Experience working with Shotgun
- Clear, concise, and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent teamwork sensibilities and the desire to work collaboratively with fellow crew members
- A desire to make terrific content in a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced environment
- Currently legally able to work in Canada
- Currently residing in BC or Ontario
