Job Opening: Lead Game Designer
Location: Nanterre, France
Type: Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Adopting a hands-on approach, play an active role in the development of the game.
- Guarantee that the game design pillars are understood and respected.
- Suggest and prototype game design solutions that respect and enrich the game design pillars.
- Produce concise and easy-to-understand game design documents for the production teams.
- Take part in the integration and balancing of all game components.
- Anticipate and identify any problems or bottlenecks, and implement actions for improvement.
- Manage, approve and improve the work of the game designers.
- Deliver game features on time and to specification.
- Guarantee that the finished game is fun to play.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience on, at least, two AA games, one of which was as Lead Game Designer.
- Familiarity with 3rd person stealth games and RPGs.
- At ease with spreadsheets, graphs, and functions required for game balancing.
- Implementation of gameplay mechanics, with an emphasis on the 3Cs and AI.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in both English and French.
- Affinity for level design.
- Good working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4.
- Good working knowledge of GIMP.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team.
