Job Location: Collingwood, Melbourne, Australia (On-site)
Employment Type: Part-Time to start (Opportunity to grow into Full-Time)
Core Focus: Blending live-action, CGI, and motion graphics while developing and pushing forward a node-based ComfyUI and Nuke compositing pipeline

Studio Pancho is expanding its visual production pipeline in Melbourne and launching immediate recruitment for a Mid to Senior Level Compositor specializing in Nuke and ComfyUI. Located on-site in Collingwood, this role is tailored for innovative digital artists who are as comfortable building advanced ComfyUI node workflows as they are executing high-end shot finaling in Nuke. If you possess permanent Australian working rights and are excited to help actively shape how generative AI systems integrate directly into a modern, broadcast-ready compositing environment, this position offers an exceptional studio platform.
At Studio Pancho, AI is integrated right into our core architecture. Selected compositors will manage projects across a diverse mix of broadcast, premium brand, product, and film campaigns. The studio environment prioritizes problem-solving, structural experimentation, and finding smarter ways to optimize high-fidelity visual output, making this an ideal space for collaborative creators who view generative systems as a true craft extension rather than a shortcut.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
The compositing specialist will drive hybrid visual effects assets across multiple media layouts:
- Shot Compositing & Finishing: Blend complex live-action plates, CGI elements, and motion graphics smoothly, maintaining an exceptional eye for detail, color matching, and premium integration.
- Pipeline Automation: Design, test, and iterate on node-based ComfyUI structures to actively scale up and advance the studio’s production workflows.
- Project & Client Management: Confidently handle multiple fast-paced project tracks, meet strict scheduling deadlines, and directly present look development progress to clients when required.
Required Software Knowledge & Skills
Candidates applying for this Melbourne-based position must demonstrate strong technical mastery across these toolsets:
- Core Composite Tool: High-end, proven production experience executing shot tracking, keying, and layering within Nuke.
- AI Node Architectures: Strong hands-on proficiency building pipelines, custom nodes, tools, or advanced automated experiments inside ComfyUI.
- Bonus Proficiencies: Functional operational knowledge or secondary line exposure to Unreal Engine, Houdini, Fusion, or After Effects is a major plus.
- Strict Work Parameter: Applicants must already possess permanent Australian working rights. Overseas applications and visa sponsorship requests will not be evaluated.
