Job Opening: Lead 3D Artist
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of artists in topics such as environment, props, and vegetation.
- Assigning tasks, estimating time, quality control, and tech topics support.
- Creating personal models as benchmarks.
- Planning the production.
- Iterating on certain designs in cooperation with the Concept Artists and Art Director.
- Contribution to establishing the processes and pipelines: bringing to the table creative ideas and a non-standard approach.
- Research: software and new tech.
- Leading and integration of outsourced models.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in AAA game development, modeling, and texturing.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading artists.
- Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps.
- An exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette.
- Extensive knowledge of Maya/Max/Modo, Photoshop, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Baking Tools.
- In-depth knowledge about the pipeline requirements of real-time game art.
- Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group.
- Take ownership and supervision of art assets through all pipeline stages.
- Ability to directly manage, teach. and mentor other artists.
- Participate in the interviewing and hiring process of artists.
- Have shipped at least one AAA PC or console title in a similar position.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of tools like Marvelous Designer, World Machine, Houdini, Speedtree, etc.
- Knowledge of work automation tools (scripting, using special software).
- Experience with Unity or Unreal.
- Experience in creating materials in Substance Designer.
- Passion for pushing the envelope in detailing organic art like creatures and nature environment assets.
- Knowledge of architecture styles and manufacturing principles.
- A passion for games.
