Job Opening: Rigging Artist

Location: Freelance/Remote

Type: Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Rig characters, clothing, and props in Maya
  • Create and manage blend shapes
  • Handle skinning, weight painting, and deformation setup
  • Rig complex garments, accessories, and mechanical elements
  • Troubleshoot and refine rigs based on animation and technical needs

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Maya rigging workflows and tools
  • Solid understanding of rigging principles, deformation, and character topology
  • Confident with blendshape creation and weight painting
  • Able to rig both organic and hard-surface assets
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Bonus Points For:

  • Scripting experience (Python or MEL)
  • Experience exporting to Unreal Engine and working within real-time constraints
