Job Opening: CG Supervisor

Responsibilities:
- Partner with VFX Department leads and supervisors to evaluate and implement technical and creative solutions for virtual production, techs, survey, scanning, match move, and layout tasks.
- Provide hands-on supervision over virtual production, virtual art department, the on-set survey/3D scanning group, techs/previs, match moving, and motion capture teams.
- Under the guidance of the VFX Supervisor, provide plate supervision, as needed.
- Design an approach plan for the full arc of virtual production usage, ranging from previsualization, performance capture, and on-set visualization.
- Partner with production management, supervisors, and leads to ensure virtual production, techs, survey, scanning, match move, and layout artists are cohesively integrated, as well as supplied with all necessary task information to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and quality standards are met.
- In conjunction with other department heads, oversee cross-departmental asset integration through the Virtual Art Department.
- Follow the progress of stage/element shoot scheduling and ensure that all required VFX input has been provided and camera teams have all necessary VFX data.
- Troubleshoot technical and creative production problems and proactively work to minimize their impact.
- Work closely with Production Technology and IT to develop actionable task priorities, tool/pipeline development structure, and advise on VFX hardware & software needs.
- Proactively seek industry innovations to streamline workflows and participate in testing, implementation, and documentation/current training materials.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 7+ years of CG leadership experience using Maya and Renderman on live-action commercial or feature film productions in a leadership capacity.
- Strong communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas and creative vision in simple terms to creative partners.
- Ability to inspire, supervise, and lead a multi-faceted team of artists, developers, and technicians.
- Experience with Linux (or another Unix) operating system.
- Understanding of VFX pipeline from early-stage development through shooting and into each stage of asset (creature, character, environments) creation, rendering, and finishing.
- Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine, 3D software packages, and pipelines.
- Knowledge of the entire production process, including stage shooting, preferred.
- Ability to successfully delegate, mentor, and manage people and projects under deadline.
