Job Opening: Technical Animator – Rigger

Location: Lyon, France

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • A good understanding of the constraints coming from the game design, engine, and hardware.
  • Define the technical constraints relating to the characters and animated objects.
  • Integrate the resources into the engine and ensure compliance with the constraints and performance monitoring.
  • Create advanced rigs and skinning for characters, creatures, and props.
  • Create and support tools to improve the rigging and animation pipeline, according to the project needs.
  • Help artistic teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Setup of character ragdolls and cloth physics.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge on the latest technological watch with other technical artists in the studio

Qualifications & Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Maya and Python
  • Outstanding rigging and deformation skills (body/facial).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate team spirit, autonomy, and organization.
  • Finding a balance between aesthetic, usability, and technical complexity.
  • Experience with MotionBuilder is a plus.
