Job Opening: Senior VFX Artist

Location: Europe/Remote

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Creating real-time visual effects, including all the assets needed for them, from prototype to final delivery.
  • Helping the team grow and collaborate with VFX Lead, Technical Art Direction, and any other department to achieve the VFX Team’s vision within the technical constraints.
  • Collaborate with different departments to create the title’s immersive real-time visual effects, in accordance with the project’s creative direction, artistic vision, and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to every aspect of the VFX pipeline. Collaborate with TA for R&D, or Tools team about how to improve, integrate, and optimize final in-game effects within Unreal Engine.
  • Take part in additional duties, which may include assisting with content creation, quality control, and any other activities necessary for the project’s timely delivery and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years experience as a VFX artist or Technical Artist in 3D games, simulators, or other high-performance real-time systems.
  • Experience in shipping successful AA/AAA titles for consoles and PC, as a VFX Artist role through at least one complete development cycle.
  • A team player with strong communication skills, as well as an eagerness for learning and self-improvement.
  • Mentoring and helping other fellow artists to understand the best ways to deliver great VFX within the technical constraints.
  • Demonstrable experience with the creation, integration, and optimization of real-time and cinematic visual effects, ideally including a notable contribution as a VFX Artist for video games.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and its Niagara VFX system, including scratchpad, blueprints, and materials.
  • Ability to work within highly technical constraints, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability for rapid and iterative creation based on peer feedback and directions.
  • Extreme attention to detail and capacity to clearly represent abstract concepts.Excellent understanding of color theory, timing, and form.
  • Knowledge of the software, DCC packages, and others needed for his trade, including source control.
  • Knowledge of an industry-standard 2D graphic solution (ex: Photoshop)

Bonus Points:

  • Passion for being involved in R&D and problem-solving, including the ability to research, test, and implement new techniques.
  • 3 years or more of recent experience working in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience in profiling.
  • Knowledge of a VFX/Simulation solution (ex: Houdini or EmberGen or any other standard).
  • Experience in following production roadmaps with AGILE management tools like Jira.
