Job Opening: Senior Environment Artist (Vegetation & Natural Objects)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Building well-designed levels and scenes from a given block-out
- Integrate assets for use in the game engine
- Set dressing based on the project’s visual direction or your own vision
- Asset creation from proxy phase to final shippable quality
- High to Low poly modeling, UV mapping, and baking
- Ability to create textures and materials based on PBR workflow
- Collaborate with level and narrative designers to create environments that balance aesthetics with playability and technical feasibility
- Participate in cross-discipline meetings and regular playtest sessions with Producers, Leads, and Directors
- Participate in the hiring process
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in professional game development
- A gifted eye for helping to develop and work within a designated artistic style, and to execute according to the overall art direction and project goals
- Experience with Unreal Engine tools and workflows, including setting up materials
- Excellent organic/inorganic modelling skills using 3DSMax/Modo/Maya or similar
- Solid knowledge of composition and shape balance
- Adept propagation skills, specifically with modular asset-building sets
- Ability to take and apply direction and work well in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Passionate about videogames
Desirable Skills:
- Thorough understanding of shader creation
- Strong understanding of architecture
- Experience with procedural content creation pipelines
- Experience with procedural tool creation in Houdini
- Experience with material creation in Substance Designer
- Experience with mentoring/teaching
