Job Opening: Senior Animator
Location: Frankfurt / Remote in Germany
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain high-quality keyframe animations with a focus on weight, body mechanics, timing, and facial expression.
- Integrate and refine motion-captured animations, adapting them to the defined animation style and parameters.
- Work closely with the Lead Animator to ensure the timely completion of tasks at the desired quality level.
- Collaborate proactively with other animators and departments to create a cohesive vision and experience.
- Troubleshoot and solve animation issues across all disciplines.
- Partner with designers to implement animations into the game engine.
- Contribute to the animation vision and direction of the project.
- Stay adaptable to technical dependencies and limitations, especially within Unreal Engine 5.
- Continuously refine your craft and stay open to constructive feedback, contributing to an iterative process.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 5+ years in the games industry, with a strong showreel or online portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in combat and gameplay animations, both keyframe and motion-capture techniques.
- Engine Proficiency: Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and game animation implementation.
- Animation Mastery: Deep understanding of animation principles, skinning/rigging best practices, and dynamic posing.
- Teamwork: Excellent organizational, teamwork, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with a varied team.
- Mindset: A positive, solution-oriented attitude, with a strong command of the English language.
