Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging levels, from concept to final implementation, ensuring they align with the overall game vision.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including artists and programmers, to incorporate gameplay elements, logic, and aesthetics into levels.
  • Utilise feedback from leads and directors to iterate on level design, maintaining a balance between creative aspirations and gameplay functionality.
  • Communicate effectively across teams to solve problems, address risks, and ensure cohesive project progression.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and tools, continuously seeking ways to enhance the player’s experience through innovative level design.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A compelling portfolio showcasing levels or missions created within game engines or through player-facing creation tools.
  • Strong understanding of level design principles and what makes games enjoyable.
  • Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with scripting or blueprint systems is a significant plus.
  • Games industry experience is highly valued, though not required with an outstanding portfolio.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-motivated drive to overcome design challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to changing priorities.
